Fox Sports has a $1.99 million multimedia projector to complement its digital television coverage.
The sports channel, which also owns the NFL Network and NBA TV, unveiled the device at its annual press conference on Wednesday.
The $1-plus-priced unit features a 15.6-inch OLED display with an 1160 x 720 resolution.
It can play back up to five simultaneous 1080p HD movies or 720p SD videos at a time and uses Bluetooth to connect to the channel’s wireless network.
A digital antenna allows for wireless connection, and the TV uses a Wi-Fi antenna for video streaming.
A USB-C port can be used for charging, while the device’s power button allows for quick access to a TV’s menu, remote control, and other controls.
The $1 million price tag for the system is about $500 cheaper than the company’s previous $1+-$1.50 million range, and comes at a good time.
The sports channel has been struggling to stay relevant in a changing cable landscape, and it’s unlikely to continue that struggle for long.
